Quick Bytes – 3/4/2018

3/1/2018 If anyone doesn’t believe there’s a “War on Christianity”, just look at the reaction by anti-religious freaks against actor Chris Pratt. Anti-Christian/anti-Second Amendment people were offended because Pratt offered his prayers for a friend who had a heart attack, and then encouraged others to pray for him. Pratt was so viciously attacked and criticized, that friends had to come to his defense. How sad that someone must defend themselves for offering to pray for someone else. Unfortunately, we don’t have to look to Hollywood to see an example of anti-Christian prayer criticism.  In the wake of the Sutherland Springs…

It Isn’t Harmless . . . Porn Kills!

The common refrain of those who access porn is “it’s harmless.” Like every justification of wrongdoing since the beginning of time, the refrain sounds hollow. Sure the fruit looks “good for making one wise” and I’m certain that as Adam and Eve took the first bite, they thought “it’s harmless” even finding pleasure in is flavor (much like those who by the click of the mouse practice infidelity enjoying pleasuring themselves) without realizing that the first bite would savage the world, introduce death, and be the reason for cancer, earthquakes and tsunamis today. Personal and secret acts of unfaithfulness always…

The Long And Winding Road to the Censure of Speaker Joe Straus

On July 10th, at a Republican Party of Bexar County Executive Committee meeting, Precinct Chair Mike O’Donnell stood up and made a motion for the assembly to adopt a resolution to replace the Speaker of the House for his “lack of support for the platform of the Republican Party of Texas”. At that meeting there was a quorum of members (minimum 25% of the body) and a majority who voted to adopt a resolution to replace the Speaker. As the news spread throughout Texas about Bexar County’s resolution, other counties quickly jumped on the bandwagon and passed their own resolutions…

“This is Armaggedon” Says Nancy Pelosi

On Monday night, the GOP tax bill took another step toward President Trump’s desk when Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), named nine members to the conference committee, including Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-Texas). The Senate is expected to name their negotiators later this week as the two chambers work to reconcile their respective versions of the bill. As the bill moves forward, Democrats are becoming increasingly frantic — and apocalyptic — in their efforts to derail tax reform. “[This bill] is the worst bill in the history of the United States Congress,” claimed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi…

If My People … A Message to Christians #3

Third in a series by Pastor Gerald Ripley Are you a hypocrite? I doubt you’ve been asked that question before. I haven’t. I can’t recall asking it in the past. But there are Christians who are hypocrites. It’s a wicked way God’s people need to turn from in order to meet God’s conditions listed in 2 Chronicles 7:14 for Him to heal our land. Non-Christians can spot a Christian hypocrite in a very short time. We are being watched. The commandment, “You should not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold…
